Balens Christmas gifts
A bar of soap, a flannel and tooth brush may not sound very
exciting as Christmas gifts to a UK audience, but they are among
the suggested donations for the Samaritan Operation Christmas Child
appeal. This year Balens decided to support Samaritan
Operation Christmas Child appeal this extremely worthwhile
chance to give, with both staff and the business buying items for
the shoe box appeal.
In this day and age with talk of cutbacks and double dip
recessions it is all too easy to forget how very fortunate we
really are. Operations Christmas Child is an opportunity to
have gratitude for what we have and a chance to give back to the
world.
Staff at Balens enthusiastically supported the scheme and filled
12 individually wrapped shoeboxes with a selection of hygiene and
stationary items, sweets, toys and a cuddly bear each. The
boxes were then sent to join the more than 1,000,000 other
shoeboxes that people from the UK donate each year. Each
shoebox will then be given to a child in Africa, Asia or Eastern
Europe, as an unconditional gift this Christmas time.
